Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, July 29, 2016 – Volleyball’s presence will be felt all across Rio during the upcoming Olympic Games, which are now just a week away. However, one of the biggest hubs will almost certainly be Copacabana, where the FIVB will have six courts offering fans and visitors a chance to Volleyball Your Way.
The #CopaCourts will welcome a whole host of activities, from clinics with some of the FIVB’s key stakeholders to simply welcoming anyone who wants to try the sport, or play it on the iconic Copacabana sand. They will be open to the public from 09:30 – 17:30 every day.
The courts will have three themes. The kids corner will focus on mini volleyball, Volleyball Your Way will be free play and include activities such as Bossaball and the court of the future will introduce fans to ground-breaking innovations in volleyball, such as the LED net.
They will also play host to numerous exhibition and legends matches plus much more.
Designed as a place for budding players to learn, enjoy the sport and meet and challenge players and celebrities, the courts are aiming to truly celebrate volleyball during the Olympic Games.
To celebrate volleyball around the world, a new
Instagram account has also been created. @VolleyballYourWay will feature all the best photos and videos from the courts.
In addition, fans around the world have the chance to win a Volleyball Your Way t-shirt signed by past and present Olympians set to visit the #CopaCourts. This will include Vladimir Grbic, Chen Xue, Emanuel Rego, Randy Stoklos, Giba, Mauricio Lima and Jackie Silva. To be entered in the tournament, follow the @VolleyballYourWay account and post a video or photo showing the unique and different ways you #VolleyballYourWay. Make sure to include the hashtag as well!
