World champs aiming to maintain improvement

Rio de Janeiro, August 8, 2016 – Brazil’s Agatha Bednarczuk and Barbara Seixas continued their winning ways at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games when they beat Argentina’s Ana Gallay and Georgina Klug 2-0 (21-11, 21-17) at the Copacabana Beach Arena on Monday.

Here’s what they said after the match…

Barbara Seixas, Brazil

“We trained for different types of serves, and we knew that this serve would make it difficult for them. We prepared a lot for this game. We studied how they play, how they pass and their reception.

“Right now we just want to rest a little bit because we still have one day off to prepare and study. We know that the Spanish girls (Elsa Baquerizo and Liliana Fernandez) have been improving and growing along the year, and have experience in the Olympic Games because they played in London.

“We know we have to enter the game with 300% to beat them, and that's what we're going to do.”
