Swiss and Australians vying for first pool play victory in day three opener

 
Rio de Janeiro, August 8, 2016 - Switzerland's Isabelle Forrer/Anouk Verge-Depre and Australia's Mariafe Artacho/Nicole Laird will both try to recover from opening-match losses in a must-win match for both teams to start off day three.  Both teams lost their opener and will need a win if they hope to advance to the elimination stage.

Historically the #10 seed has won two of the three matches against the #22 seed in Olympic Game pool play, with a three-set win in London (2012) and a straight-set win in Beijing (2008).  The #22 seed won in three sets in Athens (2004), and the #10 seed won in a second-round match in Sydney (2000).
