Spanish pool B winners battle Russia's lucky losers in round of 16

 
Rio de Janeiro, August 12, 2016 - Spain's Elsa Baquerizo/Liliana Fernandez, pool B winners, battle against lucky loser winners, Ekaterina Birlova/Evgeniya Ukolova of Russia in a round of 16 match that will be their fourth meeting on the FIVB World Tour.  The Spaniards have won two of the three matches, but they have not played each other since May, 2015.  The winner will advance to the quarterfinals, and the loser will be eliminated with a 9th-place finish.
