Limited edition Rio 2016 prints set to be unveiled

London, England, November 9, 2016 – Beach volleyball fans can re-live the excitement of the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games as FIVB artist Peter Spens is set to unveil the finished prints of the works he painted courtside at the Copacabana Beach Arena.

Both prints will now go on display at his Cranley Gallery in north London, with both works on sale to the public. There are 140 prints of the paintings, two of which have already been bought by the FIVB.

Spens was commissioned by the FIVB to paint two temporal collages of the action on Copacabana Beach, one during the day and one once the sun went down for the evening sessions.

It was the second time he has painted scenes from an Olympic Games beach volleyball competition having also been commissioned to paint scenes from Horse Guards’ Parade at London 2012.

An exhibition featuring both paintings will also be on display at Cranley Gallery from November 10-30 as part of the Active Reaction exhibition.
