Larissa and Talita send out ominous warning for further improvement

Rio de Janeiro, August 9, 2016 – Brazil’s Larissa Franca and Talita Antunes recorded their second win at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games when they beat the USA’s Lauren Fendrick and Brooke Sweat 2-0 (21-16, 21-13) at the Copacabana Beach Arena on Tuesday.

Here’s what they said after the match…

Talita Antunes, Brazil
“I think we can get better and better, but each match its own story and Brazil versus US is always a big fight, but I think we can better than this.

“We had to play a high level all the time and that is good. It is better here than in Beijing and London, We are playing at home and the fans bring their heart and passion to us and to this venue.”

Lauren Fendrick, USA
“We definitely had some opportunities and made some big plays. We wrer in it early on, but we didn’t steady out our side-out and had some moments when we gave up some runs of points so that really hurt us.

“I think we’re getting better at some things, taking care of the ball and use that against Russia (Ekaterina Ukolova and Evgenia Birlova).”
