Alison and Bruno continue to learn Copacabana lessons

Rio de Janeiro, August 10, 2016 – Brazil's Alison and Bruno booked their place in the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games eliminations rounds with a 2-0 (21-19, 21-16) win over Italy’s Alex Ranghieri and Adrian Carambula at Copacabana Beach Arena on Wednesday.

Bruno Schmidt, Brazil
“I am so glad we had such hard moments in the second match against the Austrians (defeat v Clemens Doppler and Alexander Horst) because that taught us a lot; how to react, how to start the match and how to get through hard moments because there will be even more hard moments.

“The tournament is just starting and if we want to make the tournament longer for us, that has to be our focus.

“It was a small twist (to Alison’s knee) I think, but I was way more scared of it than he was. We will see, we have two days to recover and you can see it wasn’t a problem for us to finish the match, so I think in two days it will be even better.”

Adrian Carambula, Italy
“It was a tough battle, I had a fever and woke up throwing up and it was a difficult game. I gave my all, I was calm, but they made better plays than us.”
