China will be looking for its third victory in a row when meets Serbia on Friday morning
Rio de Janeiro, August 11, 2016 – Day four of the women’s volleyball tournament at Rio 2016 Olympic Games opens on Friday with an appetizing match between China and Serbia, the top two finishers at last year’s FIVB World Cup, at 9:30 local time.
The two sides have 2-1 win-loss records in Pool B but China with 7 points –one resulting from a 2-3 loss- is already out of reach for Italy and Puerto Rico, the two teams sitting at the bottom of the standings without points and 0-3 marks.
Argentina and Cameroon, who are win-less in Pool A at 0-3, will battle in the second match of Friday with the winners still with marginal chances of entering the phase of the last eight squads.
The undefeated United States will be out looking to maintain their spotless record in Pool B when they meet Italy in the first match of the afternoon session followed by the contest of Netherlands versus Puerto Rico.
Russia and hosts Brazil, already owners of quarterfinal berths, put on the line their unblemished 3-0 records as attractions of the evening programme against Asian opponents at Maracanazinho Stadium.
