Argentina get motivation from supporters

Luciano De Cecco thinks that the whole Olympic cycle is working for Argentina because of the players, coaches and the supporters

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 15, 2016 – Argentina captain Luciano De Cecco explained that this particular cycle of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games has been favouring his team, as they have now recorded four victories in five matches.

Luciano De Cecco, Captain of Argentina:
It was a tough game but we really played well in all aspects. We had some problems in the third set because we couldn’t side-out. The hitters of Egypt are really good, but in the end we still won. We are enjoying this moment. We just have to take some rest and get ready for the quarterfinals.

Everything in this (Olympic) cycle is working – the players, the coaching staff, especially our fans. We are happy with the results here and we are happy that our supporters are here for us. We play at different times here in Rio but our supporters are always there to watch us. We are very happy to be part of this. We are cherishing every moment and every point in this tournament.

Sebastian Sole, Player of Argentina:
We were very hopeful to win this match and we’re very happy with the way we worked well together. Our blocking and attacking is fantastic today. For the quarterfinals, we know it’s going to be difficult opponents, so will just continue to work hard.

Sherif El Shemerly, Coach of Egypt:
We started very bad in the first two sets. We are upset that we were not able to get through in this competition. Coming into this match, we had to motivate the players because we couldn’t overcome this feeling. We’ve had some setbacks in this tournament because of injuries, even Saleh has an injury on the shoulder. So I did not have much choice on which players to utilise in our matches.
