Stars of Rio: Earvin Ngapeth

Ngapeth was the MVP and Best Outside Spiker at the FIVB Volleyball World League 2015

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 1, 2016 – If one man has been the face of the recent French revolution in volleyball, it has to be Earvin Ngapeth. The enigmatic 26-year-old is one of the most recognisable characters in volleyball and he will be bringing his own unique style to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games with him.

He has been steadily adding to his own personal honours list as France have been claiming gold medals around the world. He earned both the MVP and Best Outside Spiker award at the FIVB Volleyball World League 2015 before following up with a EuroVolley title later in the year, where he also added another Best Outside Spiker award to his resumé.

Suffice to say, 2016 has been slightly more muted for the man from Saint-Raphael – just the one medal, a bronze at the FIVB Volleyball World League. However, greatness could yet await Ngapeth and his teammates in Rio.
