A key player for China, Zhu led her team to gold in Rio. Also a recipient of the Best Outside Hitter award, she was one of two Chinese players voted into the tournament's Dream Team.

Voting concludes on September 11 and the winners will be determined by a combination of a public vote (50 per cent) and the Women's Sports Foundation's Awards Committee's vote (50 per cent). The winners will be the two athletes - one individual finalist and one team finalist - who receive the highest combined share of the public vote and the Awards Committee's vote.

Zhu Ting joins Olympic beach volleyball gold medallists Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst who are also nominated in the team sport category.
