FIVB brings bloco carnival atmosphere to Rio

 

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 8, 2016 - The FIVB today lit up the streets of Copacabana with a Carnival Bloco which led fans from the beach volleyball area to the FIVB’s Volleyball House and showcase Copa Courts.

Today was the first of daily Carnival Blocos, which the FIVB has organised as part of its commitment to create an entertainment spectacle as well as a sporting event in Rio. The Bloco is led by dancers and a band playing carnival beats and takes fans from the Beach Volleyball Arena to the Volleyball House and the FIVB’s showcase beach volleyball courts on Copacabana which are hosting a variety of daily activities for the entire family.








Beach volleyball is rapidly becoming the signature event of Rio 2016 as the sport returns to its spiritual home on the iconic Copacabana Beach.  The FIVB has introduced a range of exciting activities and cutting edge technology at these Games to ensure it is the number one family sport entertainment in Rio.
